New Content Added To BNS Archive #1

The following five editorials written by Baruti M. Kamau in the late 1990's for Barutiwa News Service have been added to the BNS Archive located at Cincy Forums. The BNS Archive has been developed exclusively for the archiving of known editorials, opinions and news reports distributed to the public via Barutiwa News Service (BNS) from 1996 to 1999.

Martin Luther King, Jr. - A Father of Black Nationhood
Martin Luther King, Jr. was born in the year 1929 to a well to do Black Christian family. In his adult life, he founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) and emerged as the chief leader of the non-violent movement for racial equality in the United States.

Scam Artists Hurt Nigeria's Image
There's an old Hausa proverb in Nigeria that says, "If you don't like the way the moon rise, then get up there and change it."

Go To The Front
"Surely the future of every nation is based on its youth. But not upon all of them -no- not upon every individual, but on the intellectual ones, the educated ones with good character, good manners, and zeal," so said Ibrahim Niasse, a modern reformer in Senegal.

One Bullet For One Rapist
Rape of a woman is devastating to her and her family. Being raped by a police officer is foul, detrimental to the trust between civilians and the state.

Louis Farrakhan's Mocking of Islam
It is our earnest desire to make it clear to our subscribers and the media (who empathize with the cause of Barutiwa championing the voice of young Black people) that this publication does not support Louis Farrakhan in any sense. There are three primary reasons why we are not charmed by his usual sensations.
