Taro walked down the smooth stone road, obviously built by earthbenders. He glanced around at the large superstructure that had been constructed out of the rocky cliff edges by the earth kingdom. It was fantastic, all he had ever seen were small huts and the occasional regular house. Nothing close to this impressive. The road had been surprising bandit-less, especially for a popular route. But that wasn't a bad thing, anything but. He was glad to see an area so free from the grips of corruption.
Upon approaching the podium he was greeted by a fat woman with a stamp. She spoke in a half irritated, half bored voice. Passport please.
Taro raised an eyebrow, clueless as to what he was supposed to do. He had never needed a, what was it called? A passport? Before, he looked at the woman, completely confused. The woman snapped her fingers. "Hey! Shake your head boy, your eyes are stuck." Taro blinked, and bowed. "My apologies ma'm, but i do not have a passport." The woman looked irritated, and shouted at a pair of men lurking nearby. "No passport, no ride! Kick 'im out boys!" Taro protested the mistreatment, but was ultimately hauled out by the guards. He turned away from the ferry station and walked away, heading back out into the countryside.
